What is ITEP course?

 At present, a four-year B.Ed program is being started as a pilot project in 42 universities from the academic session 2023-24. National Test Agency will open the online application window for this National Common Entrance Exam next week. National Council for Teacher Education (NCETE) is starting a four-year B.Ed program as per the recommendations of NEP 2020.

ITEP course requirements:

After the order of the Supreme Court, now B.Ed course will not be standard to become a primary teacher in government schools. Now the ITEP program is ready to take its place. It has been designed by the National Council for Teacher Education i.e. NCTE, it has been named Integrated Teachers Education Program i.e. ITEP. After this 4-year course, after the year 2030, teacher recruitment will be completed only through ITEP course. This course will be included in the qualification.

Actually, B.Ed course will continue, but it will be only academic. After this you will be able to do post graduation and PhD. The option of ITEP course may start in most of the B.Ed colleges from the next session. Let us tell you that the National Education Policy is gradually being implemented from higher education to primary education. Not only this, new changes are also going to happen in the field of education. In this sequence, there are preparations to make four-year B.Ed or four-year Integrated Teacher Education Program (ITEP) degree mandatory from the year 2030.
